Temporary crowns
An interim restoration while a definitive crown is being prepared. Options are available for natural teeth and for MegaGen and Straumann implants.

About Service
A temporary crown is used between preparation of a tooth and placement of the definitive restoration. In implant care, a provisional restoration may also help assess shape and prepare the surrounding soft tissues.
The fabrication method and conditions of use are selected clinically. A temporary implant crown does not mean every implant can be loaded immediately after surgery.
What the treatment or procedure involves
- Selection of a provisional restoration for the treatment stage.
- Fabrication and placement.
- Review and replacement with the definitive restoration as planned.
Important considerations
- A temporary crown can break or loosen, so care instructions and reviews matter.
- Contact the dentist if the restoration becomes loose or damaged.
